Thanks Gang!
« on: April 28, 2013, 09:02:45 PM »

Pikey inveigled me into going to a different session from the one I usually frequent. As usual I took along both my fiddle and my favourite squeeze, intending to use the latter just for playing on-chord accompaniments as is my wont in strange company. I was very extremely pleasantly surprised to find I could keep up with everybody, even with tunes I didn't remember ever learning. I wonder why I could play better there than my usual place? It may have been because more English tunes were played or because the pace was less forced, but in any case it was a real morale booster. Thanks gang (you know who you are!)  ;D

I'm a Yorkie!
My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

1) Beer
2) its a larger room with bigger acoustics, so its easier to play quietly on tunes you think you dont know
3) See 1
