tuning help
« on: January 17, 2009, 05:19:28 PM »

I have been tuning an old hohner club and was moving merrily along until I came to the small valveless reeds that have the plates inverted.  I can not get at the inside valve with the lifter that I have.  I've been pondering it for a while and decided the only way I can get at it is to take the block out of the accordion and push the reed up from the inside.  Anybody found a better way?

You should be able to lift the reed tip by pushing the reed up via the vent in the base of the reedblock.  You may need to make a tool with a slight curve to get 'round the corner'
