Resist...Resist!
« on: October 02, 2014, 04:39:08 PM »

 8) Hey folks, signs of a cure for me...end of MAD perhaps?
I was bidding furiously on Ebay for a Mignon in G, well worn apparantly, but much loved.
The price was jumping up and just sold for £480 plus £20 postage. Sounds like a fix....no, a nice round figure, but I refused to bid today and went out instead....cured!
I see Rees Wesson has a pair of Giordies for sale....hmmm!

Well, you'd have to be MAD to bid before the last 10 seconds anyway.

Maybe some sniping software would help rekindle your passion...

What can I say...  I played Malcom Bebb's Giordy in Sidmouth (didn't get the chance when he bought it from you at Chippenham  >:E) It is gorgeous, awesome little box. My mate Sarah was similarly smitten.

Is there no cure for MAD *sigh*

Just read this back...not suggesting he is trafficking northerners for a minute.....or a couple of quid.
Mind you....sell a few and your boat certainly would come in pet! 8)

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

See, see the Preciosa sky
Marvel at its big Pokerwork depths.
Tell me, Morino do you
Wonder why the Saltarelle ignores you?
Why its foobly stare
makes you feel Binci.
I can tell you, it is
Worried by your Fondo facial growth
That looks like
A Bellows.
What's more, it knows
Your Insertion potting shed
Smells of Liliput.
Everything under the big Preciosa sky
Asks why, why do you even bother?
You only charm Castagnaris.

Still, thankfull for small mercies, at least the Vogons only discovered haiku - the thought of a Vogon limeric  :o

Now back to that tune for 'Malleting the Crab'  >:E

No, I can assure you it was no "fix", the bidding was basically between 2 of you and the other guy won it by a tenner.  The shipping, with insurance came to a couple of quid extra but so what? Someone's got a lovely little box now. Sorry you lost Pauly, but someone is often disappointed in an auction.

The Giordy is a fantastic little box, get one if you love things small and portable. They sound great too, and are very loud for their size especially if you don't play the basses.

The fix part was a joke, but I was convinced the bidding was going to reach £500 somehow. I guess it was your box Steekarts by the way you write, thanks for your kind remarks. A Mignon or a Giordy should be in my collection one day! Cheers!
