Not a party piece as such but I do get asked for it regularly.

Just amazing.
Love the tune.
You have that extra dimension in playing and sensitivity that we are all looking for.
High on the 'to learn' list.
Thanks Martin.

Cheers

Thank you Sandy but I've just listened again and find it a bit slow and sombre. But, it is what it is - first take, mood of the moment.  :-\

Don't knock yourself. moody, well yes. but emotionally expressive and fingerwise: all over the place, very reminiscent of Tony Hall to me. I loved those right index finger bass runs.

I am a 'mood of the moment' person 8).
It helps as a good video too in capturing technique.

Martin, that's a really lovely emotive tune, & the Pokerwork sounds great!

Here's my effort - been working on it for the last few weeks & not quite where I would like it yet:

I suppose this would also be a party piece of mine. Playing SSS's March and trying to ignore the dog at the same time.

He won and I lost a B part  ::)

This is my dream party piece...

The Teddy Bears' Picnic, in march time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-97BBWRElVc
Played on a Dino Baffetti Binci 3-voice melodeon.
The C music is missing because it was too challenging to master in time to post this month. Got to keep practicing and update later.

Music composed by John Walter Bratton, an American, in 1907. Lyrics (not included here) were added in 1932 by Irish songwriter Jimmy Kennedy. Under the baton of Henry Hall, this song was a hit for the BBC Orchestra, who recorded it in 1932 with singer Val Rosings.

Well done folks - great bunch of stuff I thought this month. Late entries always welcome as ever; just stick them on the end of this thread!

I found this on a CD about three weeks ago and fell in love with it, then found out what a pain it was to play :Ph, in particular the odd structure of the tune. I can just about play the notes now but the mood and phrasing still need work. My New Year's resolution is to improve tunes like this one that I can already play a bit.
