23 November 2013 Registration now reenabled; antispam stuff deployed

Last night the forum experience a large number of attempted registrations by spambots.  Registration of new members is disabled while we work out how to respoind.  This is intended to be a temporary measure.

Clive Williams:
I've enabled a spam killing mod, and reopened the registration floodgates, so to speak. There may be some odd unexpected effects of course; this kind of technology is always a little odd. If anyone sees anything, please let us know by posting a message in the support forum, sending theo/me a PM, or posting to the melnet facebook group if neither of those work.
