Busking Drum
« on: November 26, 2013, 06:47:01 PM »

I am looking to busk this year with the melodeon to raise funds for a charity.  I wish to become a one man band and I am therefore seeking help in making the back pack drum and cymbals which are operated by the foot.  I have tried searching the nert, but can find nothing.  Help would be appreciated.

You could add both percussion and a dancer to your one man band with this.

I just slip a skinless plastic tambourine under my foot. I did once have a drum and foot pedal in front of me when we never had a drummer in the early days of our band.

Ah. The brilliant Chris Harvey jig dolls.
I have the foot machine  and also a platform that can dance two jig doll Morris men at the same time.
The foot machine is very difficult to play standing up.  >:E

I have tried searching the nert, but can find nothing.

The nert is completely useless, I couldn't find anything there either.

I just ordered a solenoid off Amazon...I'm gonna build myself a robot cajón, Jazari-stylee.

Great stuff  (:) Shame we didn't get more shots of the drums rather than a bald bloke playing with his knobs!

Completely agree. Hey, if you enjoyed that, have you heard of Pat Metheny's "Orchestrion"...?

I'm telling you, robots are taking over the future. Or is it bald blokes with knobs. One or the other.

You could also take a stab at a briefcase drum, which is pretty portable and can work quite well. Though now that I think about it I'm not entirely sure how to build one, but here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f63ekaNol6I
