New thumbs please.  Both my existing ones have arthritis in their bases and I'm having to have a re-think about what I play and how I play it :(

I would LOVE a melodeon capo.

But my new Christmas wish is a job.  Just found out I'm getting laid off.  Rats.   :P

Isn't it strange how many employers give cards for Christmas?  Sorry to hear about that, Garry.

I'm not famed for generosity but I would like to find a youngster among my acquaintances who would really put one of my unused boxes to use!  People have borrowed them and play them an hour a week then ask how to progress!  I'm sick of the "haven't got time" excuse and would like to think of someone playing one of my boxes better than me after I've gone.

I know Xmas is full of ups and downs , but my 'Present to Self" has just turned up! .. No thanks to UPS who delivered it to a Farm shop instead of me and it has survived being thrown around depots from Sicily / Rome / Bologna / Germany and UK.
So the 10yr old Italian beauty Castagnari RIK GC from Italy has a new home !! :||:

Just need to hide it from the wife before she gets home as i hadn't actually quite mentioned it yet!  :-X

All I want for Christmas is a GC swing tuned fast action box with accidentals and extra basses that include a d minor on the pull, preferably with some switches to play with the reed settings. Santa??!!

Triggered by a comment in another thread about the balance between the right and left ends of the instrument, my Christmas present to myself is some mahogany feet that I am turning on my lathe to replace the brass feet on the bass end of my Pariselle box and thereby save a little weight. My box will then be lighter on its feet. Boom! Boom!   :-[  ::)

I just hope that I will be able to tell the difference when the new feet are fitted.
