Tunebook for IPad problems
« on: December 12, 2013, 08:05:04 PM »

Following the app upgrade a few days ago, tunepad has stopped playing ABC files on my ipad.
Anyone else experiencing issues with this release, or have any helpful suggestions?

Not helpful, I'm afraid, but I've just tried it on mine and it seems fine. Have you looked in the software's own settings? Perhaps the volume control?

Sorry not to be of more help.

You could try removing it from the ipad, then redownloading from the app store; if the problem's an out of date config file, that would reset it. You should save any data you have in Tunebook via itunes first, because that will get wiped too.

Just had a response from Jerry the Tunebook developer.

A number of people had reported the problem, and he thinks he has found the problem.

As a workaround, he suggested turning on Guitar chords in the settings! And that worked for me.

He is investigating further and will get an update out ASAP.

thanks for pointing out the upgrade, the transpose and play-from-anywhere are features I've been working around in a horribly convoluted fashion for ages. Seems to work well, and I have no audio problems.

I can't find the transpose function - where do I look?

Cheers,

Apparently new in V3.1 for IOS 7.

Which I don't yet have.

Nope, well not on my iPhone anyway, nor according to the JHLabs website

I saw it here, under "What's new", click on "More" and scroll down a little.

transpose is in edit tune which you get from the box with an up arrow sticking out of it, and then another box with an up arrow at the top of the edit page offers you "Transpose Tune"

Also you can get Edit Tune from the square with the pencil on the right of the new play/scroll bar. The accordion sound is as shocking as before (I use harmonica). BTW I'm running it on iOS 6. Haven't hammered it yet but it seems to do what I expect.

Must got a reply from Jerry, the transpose option is only available on the iPad not on the iPhone.

Things may have changed but I got bored with Tunebook and wandered off. My problem was that I couldn't add new abc files to the Tunebook documents, it just didn't see the new additions. The only way to get the program to see new files was to delete it from my iPad then reinstall it and add all of my previous files plus the new file to the documents section. It then worked fine until I once more wanted to add a new abc file. PITA, gave up and now use The Craic which is okay but provides its' own irritants!

So can iPad users of Tunebook now add new abc files to the associated documents list via iTunes and see them straight away? Mine is an iPad 4G less than a year old (when it was new and sexy) and already defunct!

I bought it, couldn't get it to do anything and frankly until this thread I'd forgotten it. Does it actually work?

I have had it for years and find it really useful, I carry around 600 odd tunes on my phone to remind me how they start either from the ABC or by the midi bleep.

I have it on an iPad and use it for practice when away from home.
