Are there any regular sessions in or around Cardiff?
« on: January 10, 2014, 03:13:33 PM »

I have a couple of friends from Uisge Contra Band who occasionally organise one (in The Poet's Corner I believe) but that's every few months at best. I find it frustratingly difficult to find folk events in Wales, and though I do know of a few there are still plenty which evade notice.

After over 6 months with the melodeon I finally feel like I'm at the point where I can play a few tunes reliably enough to join in (and I can play more on my mandolin) so I'd quite like to get out and play with more people to help me improve. Obviously a session friendly to new players would be ideal, as would more of a focus on English/Welsh/Scottish music rather than Irish, as I only know a few Irish tunes on the mandolin and none on the melodeon.

Does anyone know of any other sessions in the area? :)
