The CD has Paddy's 50s 78s with someone overdubbing a piano!  I'm deigning to mention his name, feckin' accompanists!   ;D  Irish Echo | From a daughter to a father.

I've neither CD or LP - it sounds more like an EP, what with it only having 6 tracks - I am the lucky possessor of a few P O'B private recordings.  Larry Redican's grandson uploaded some audio of P O'B to YouTube too (!):   Paddy O'Brien 1972

There's more on the CD, and I've got a Copley EP that isn't on either!  :P

But none of that answers the OP's question...  :(

The CD has Paddy's 50s 78s with someone overdubbing a piano!

To be fair, Charlie did do it very reluctantly - but Comhaltas seems to have gone through a phase of such acts of musical vandalism - they also overdubbed a bouzouki over the fabulous duet playing of Fred Finn and Peter Horan.  >:(

OK, so seems this recording is just not available.  Anybody I can bribe to make me a copy and send it to me?  I don't think that would be an egregious infringement of copyright, as it is not even available anymore. Help?!?  Thanks.  Joe.

You can hear a couple of Paddy's 78s at the BBC archives:

Lark on the strand / Pipe on the hob
Spike Island lasses / Dowd's favourite

The others are probably at comhaltasarchives.org.  These are in their original form, before they brought in Charlie Lennon.

There's some footage of P O'B in the documentary The Music Makers: Seamus Connolly and Friends.  It's a terrific little piece of film all around anyway, of course.  Also at that site is From Shore to Shore, about Irish music in New York City.

Great Documentary and music!

And at the end of it the little boy Paddy's son is playing (similar to my box) O'Brien Dewitt/ Baldoni Bros.
Makes me wonder if there's any relation since My case has the initials G.O'B.
Anybody know his kids names?

edited: may not be the right tuning since it looks like he's playing inside row B/C maybe.
Also great to see melodeon players can smile when required (:)
