That's not a dresser, that's an American Organ!
Can't quite see what the music is though, I don't think it's Lonnie Donegan with the famous line,
" well they fired their guns and the British kept a coming! there wasn't as many as there was a while ago....... Etc.  ;D

 ;D

I was going to say "That's not a melodeon, that's an American Organ!" and "That's not a melodeon either, that's a Vienna accordion!"

But hey, I'm a pedant, I'm old enough to remember British accordion terminology from the 1960s, and I live in Ireland - where it still applies!  ;)

The final, bloody, battle of a War that was officially over but, communications being what they were in 1815, the combatants didn't know about the Treaty of Ghent.

I've seen the battlefield, from the deck of a Mississippi steamboat.

Trying to get all the facts together is a lifetime's work in itself (but, in this case I've recently got a 1960's catalogue page that proves what I remembered is true), and trying to make sense of them is another lifetime's.

Posed for I reckon. Doesn't look as if she's playing it. Can't see any shoulder strap or evidence of thumb strap. What are we agreeing on BTW ?  :|||:

(that American Organ is gorgeous, bet it's not in DG  >:E )

To be fair, it's not uncommon to play with the thumb/thumb loop behind the keyboard and they didn't normally used to play small diatonic accordions, or melodeons, with a shoulder strap.

I would be happy to point out the location of the magic "Modify" thingy (it only appears on your posts) but, as per your suggestion, I am now charging a nominal fee for this service.
