It's with great honour and pleasure that i share my first video for the Tune of the Month.  :||:

I'm playing the tune in G, with a slightly slower tempo using my Tania Rutkowski accordion in G/C.

Very interesting version Ricardo - may I describe it as 'somber?' Keeps a good slow pace. I would have speeded up because I'm impatient by nature. Don't understand what a G/G accordion is - can you elaborate?

Oh, I meant G/C, of course. Meanwhile i've corrected it. Thanks for pulling my attention to it!

Great one row version. Is the instrument still with the club tuning?

Thanks, and Yes, it's the original club tuning. It's unrestored !

That's great, the club system has its oddities but it's also full of possibilities. Does it has any registers combination or is it you that goes adding new lower voices throughout the playing?

Fine playing, it's unusual to see a G/C played in the lower octave so much which helps to set the largely dark mood which is suddenly relieved by a jaunty change at around 2.20 in before reverting once again to the sombre tones that set the feel of the whole piece. It will be added to my favourites and studied in great detail! I'm surprised by the light swing tuning of your box too, I'm not used to hearing a G/C with such a dry voicing.

Thank you so much for the comments and the detailed analysis. In fact, the box was dry tuned , which i requested to the builder Tania Rutkowski. http://www.tr-accordeons.com/les-modeles/les-diatoniques.html (now, after much use it starts to have a slight swing in some of the notes) Greetings, Ricardo.

For me, this was a fun TOTM with lots of marvelous examples to try to incorporate. A special thanks to Anahata for inspiring me to venture into other than oom-pah land and linger on a bass button now and then.

Whether or not it had anything to do with that, it had lots of dance in it. Lovely!

I've been in bed with coldy virus, so a bit basic this month.
Thanks to TOTM I realise that I've been playing the first note wrong for years: (should be a doh, not a me.)

The first time through, I'm playing what I remember as F.Paris's chords:  in the B music
[DG speak] D --- G ---  G --- A ---     So there's a nice clash when the G stays put for the next bar, when we might expect another D.  Then I tried out a Bm Em bassline,  inspired by Clive.

This is a tune I haven't played for ages. I originally learned it at French music session at the Nottingham Playhouse basement bar around 1990 ( possibly )

Fun to have a go at it again.
