Still squeezing after all these years.
Mostly on hohners , with a couple of Dinos and a smattering of anglos - and now a Jeffries duet

We will certainly miss George at our now traditional gathering, Thursday afternoon in the Elsinore,  1pm until I fall off the stool just before 5pm,  come and go as you please !

Shameless plug, but someone's got to do it........ ;)

Er, I didn't spot George there last year, Kevin.

In fact I said au revoir to him that very morning ::)

This could be that one of the 'easy tunes' sessions which George normally hosts (but it will be me this year) is timetabled for Thursday afternoon 1 pm - 3 pm at the Middle Earth. So there is a partial clash. I'll try to get along to the last part of the Elsin re session.

Nah, bring 'em up to the Elsinore. We won't be doing anything hard after the first couple of pints. Except "Delilah" of course ;)

Double drat. Having attended George's excellent 'Rank beginners' session last year, I was intending to do the easy tunes session this year. When yiou say, "easy tunes", what are we talking about?

Don't worry - there will be other opportunities. Provisionally, there are three 'easy tunes' sessions on the timetable: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, all at the Middle Earth, 1pm - 3pm.

Easy tunes are whatever people want to make of it - you can even play 'Twinkle Little Star' if you wish. But I expect we will include tunes such as Winster Gallop, Grandfathers, Soldier's Joy, Shepherds Hey, Davy Knick Knack, etc. The emphasis will be on well-known tunes at a steady pace, with a chance for everyone to join in and start a tune if they so wish.

This year I will not be having a stall in the trade fair.  I will be playing, dancing and having a holiday, but I will have basic repair facilities, and can collect instruments that need more extensive work.  I can also bring along instruments for sale, if you let me know in advance.

I will be in the Eurosession, 3pm in the Yacht Club every day and not in the programme (we're fringe and we like it that way).

There are usually a few melodeons but no Melnet regulars that I know of.

I think Tufty goes there. He's very continental  ;)

Why not break with your tradition, and come to the Elsinore on the Thursday ?

I was there on several occasions last year and I shall be again this year. An enjoyable session!

Do the Eurosessions/melodeons need instruments in G/C? If so, I'll bring mine along.

D/G would see you through most of the French stuff (which predominates), but there are excursions into other genres and keys.  If you have some accidentals that need showing off I can do you a Bulgarian tune in 7/8 that alternates between A dorian and A hijaz.  And some folks do Swedish tunes that go all over the place.
