Has anybody mentioned the Belgian duo, Naragonia. Both members ...

... or indeed Bob Ellis, of this parish? Expert in melodeon tunes of the Ure valley in Yorkshire  :|glug

Quote from Bob Ellis "From Sliabh Luachra, I would recommend Jackie Daly or the less well-known Dan Herlihy."
I agree but do not forget Dennis Doodey when considering Sliabh Luachra

I tried to get Jackie Daly for Anglo International with absolutely no success. Most of his contact is through an agent (or was) and I doubt if my invitation ever reached his doormat.
Some lovely suggestions however .
Many thanks

It might be worth talking to Katie Howson. She has several contacts among Sliabh Luachra musicians and may be able to put you in touch with Jackie Daly. If they are not out of date, I have contact details for Dan Herlihy and also for John Brosnan, another brilliant Sliabh Luachra melodeonist who might be worth considering.

Sounds like a great idea. Even looking through all the tunes of the months there's a vast array of styles.

Wow, this is quite some project!
Off the top of my head ...
Netherlands - Mark Sohngen is a great player - anyone who has been / taught at Trek-er-es-Uut in Nijmegen will know of him. We had him at Melodeons & Morea few years ago. Have contact details.
Australia - I think I can provide a contact who would know more than I do, although I know a bit.
Jackie Daly - I can ask him if you like. Dave Hennessey (used to be with Any Old Time) is another superb Sliabh Luachra player, or Con O'Drisceoil (Four Star Trio). Many, many other superb Irish box players. Hard to know where to start!
How many volumes will this run to????
Archive English players ... has to be Oscar Woods too.

There was a rather good Basque group on at Cambridge FF last year called Korrontzi.  Although I cannot seem to find any specific video of that particular event, there's a fair few tracks on Youtube of which this is one (camerawork isn't great, but the sound is reasonable):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHLfWAlCdq4

The fellow with the box is Agus Barandiaran, who, at the end of their second set of the weekend on stage 2, made his exit by climbing down off the stage, over the barrier, and taking a stroll through the audience and out of the marque, playing as he went.
