If it's a 2 voice then it's what a lot of people here would call a "pre-Erica" or if a 3 voice a "pre-Corso"

Judging by the Hohner list I refer to and looking at the styling I think it's original name in the catalogue would have been "Zweireiher" - literally meaning 2 row and it's from the late 30's.

In their infinite wisdom ... Hohner seem to have removed this very useful list from their website ... I'm very glad I downloaded a hard copy!

The width if the keyboard shows it is a three voice, so "pre-Corso"

And in fact it was catalogued as the model No. 1600 (which was available in both 2-voice and 3-voice configurations), whilst the  Erica became No. 1600/2 and the Corso No. 1600/3 when they appeared in 1956.

That "Christmas tree" grille seems to have first appeared (illustrated on Imperial piano accordions) in 1937.

This list?

Ah - that's good - the web address has just changed then ... I couldn't find it by searching on the Hohner site last time I looked for it.  Thanks for the link Sebastian!

I had a bookmark on my other laptop. So thanks from me, too. Good to have a handy link.

FWIW a few years ago I typed this list into a spreadsheet document, but it's incomplete. So the original list from Hohner forms the skeleton for my working list, which I have supplemented with models that are not listed. I also added additional columns of information/notes and photos.

(:) have developed a case of MAD and acquired a similar model in C/F which seems to have been sold in Canada ( small badge on front with 'Robinson & Sons Edmonton) at some time , it has a lovely tone and is a delight  ;D ........ will have to get another concertina :|bl to even up the numbers  ;D

Still squeezing after all these years.
Mostly on hohners , with a couple of Dinos and a smattering of anglos - and now a Jeffries duet

all fine thanks hope you are well too , it's a lovely melodeon, plays as prettily as he looks. My OH is getting a new CF Autoharp so when the C/F came up it was perfect timing to get an instrument to accompany him with.
Looking forward to Folk Week, have bought season tickets for the first time in 25 years, OH spent 31 years in Oz and has never had 'free range' to roam at an English folk festival  ;D ... if only my ability to play improved with each instrument that comes into the house  :|||: :D

Any info as to age etc. would be most welcome

Of all the period Hohner pearloids, I like the "light purple" the most I think.  I have a Club Modell II in this finish - purple box with black wooden keyboard, end "horns," and chrome grille that wraps around the edges...mine sounds really nice and has a nice responsive action (compared with my larger clubs).

About the size of the box, specially this size and shape of the grill it makes think about would be any 3 voice model.
