Ollie King - Gambit launch party
« on: September 01, 2014, 11:05:21 PM »

I'm having an album launch!

In order to celebrate the arrival of Gambit, I'm having a launch party at Shakespeare's in Sheffield on 15th September. 8pm start, tickets are £8 and are available from here - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ollie-kings-gambit-album-launch-gigpartysession-tickets-12898246001

The evening will be fairly informal, with an extended set from me, followed by a song/tune session. There will also be nibbles and cake, along with excellent (cheap) beer from the bar. What's not to love?

Facebook event here - https://www.facebook.com/events/356748864490431

It'd be lovely to see some of you there!

Sounds like an excellent party. But it's a ways from Town Creek to Sheffield, so I don't think I'll be able to attend. I do hope to obtain a copy of the CD, however.

Will it be available on Bandcamp, CDBaby, or other venues accessible by those of use across the pond?

Congratulations!

It's a bit of a way from Devon too, so will raise a glass on the 15th, look northwards and be envious!
Good luck with the launch  ;)

I think I'm starting to get most of the notes in roughly the right order...... sometimes!

Can't make due to another commitment that day, but I hope the launch is very successful.

I was looking forward to this til I realised that the15th is a Monday - which sadly I can't make. Never mind, I'll just have to make do with the cCD.

Yup, full details of how to purchase the album will be posted here once it's available on 15th.

Ahh, can't you persuade City to cancel practice for a week, and have jolly to Shakespeare's?  ::)  ;)

A "pay for" party? :o Never paid for more than fine beer
(and the odd whiskey from their excellent range) before!

It's a gig, to all intents and purposes, but I thought I'd call it a party to make it sound more celebratory, hence the admission fee.

Yes, we've listened to half of it on the way to a gig tonight, sounding very good. Mary likes your version of Cold Fen, we're looking forward hearing to the rest of it on the way home (currently on the stage of HarstonVillage Hall...)
