I wondered about mentioning "ringing" (church bell change-ringing, sometimes called campanology by those who don't do it.)
As a lapsed ringer I notice lots of similarities between ringers and box players, but I don't know anyone who does both.
Tom

Guilty your honour on both counts. Lock me away!

Nobody has yet come up with a proposed antitheses to melodeon playing - how's about, discos and drinking lager  >:E
That would describe a lot of the youth round my way.  :P
You're not so old yourself!
Congratulations on escaping the herd.
Thank you....I think it was more of the case that I didn't suit that lifestyle.

Most of the other melodeon players I know round here, including myself, keep hens.

Anyone want any eggs?

Yes please - but only if you keep your carbon footprint down by delivering on foot!

I'm a real revivalist, as well as folk music and morris dancing I am a bellringer and a steam railway lover. I'm also very keen on sailing and hiking. I did scale modelling once, but not for some time. I also play Bridge very inexpertly.

I wondered about mentioning "ringing" (church bell change-ringing, sometimes called campanology by those who don't do it.)

The bagman of our Morris side is also a ringer and when I volunteered at Talyllyn steam railway a fair few of them were ringers. It's a pastime that seems to be bound inextricably with other unpopular or anoraky activities...

If I had all the money I've spent on bikes, boxes, beer and beautiful women, I'd spend it on bikes, boxes and beer!

I geocache .

I have just started this week! Actually, I'm not sure that 'started' is the right word. I've had a go and we had some fun. And we are sort of committed to doing it again because we found a trackable object so it needs to go back into another cache.

Sea-Kayaking, back-country skiing, and hiking, for pleasure.

Earth-sciences and map-making for work.  I seem to recall there are several other "Geo" people here.

I started last term. It's a very nice excuse to have a stroll around in the fresh air. Most enjoyable.

Well my main squeeze at the moment if you forgive the pun is the oboe.
Next comes MORRIS DANCING - I don't care if it is an affliction.
Then the mountains, walking these days, but lapsed climber, skier, fell runner.
Was also very keen on rallying for years (as a navigator) and if you think buying Italian boxes is an expensive business, don't even think of motor sport.

You might be interested that I found two caches at last year's MAW . There is one by the church outside Henry Box school.
