I'm a Yorkie!
My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

I'm in the valley of the moles in Surrey, just a few miles away from Dorkinghamshire. Very nice it is here too.

A small town called Woolgoolga, locally known as Woopi, about 10,500 miles south-east of the M25.

Can't miss it...

I think geography is important context, Melodeonism is very cultural.? "Wirral" incidentally places me with similar accuracy, though my music is admittedly eclectic. btw Dolly and I hope to get to the St Lawrence basin next year … though Cleveland is some way west of Québec?

Names? Well that's the internet for you. I recall I was "tomcat" on the online Bridge sites. :|glug

Tomcat! I like it.  I agree that the melodeon is very cultural in EUROPE, and I love seeing the regional pride displayed in all of these posts, and while I will not go on record saying that the US is culturally deficient along the lines of these and other regional traditions found all throughout Europe, I will say that it is different and can not be compared, and is no where to being on the same level. It is one of the things I love so much about Europe. I guess I am saying I wish we had the regional diversity found over there and even more that it was tied to the melodeon, song, and dance.  There is the cajun tradition in the deep south, tex mex in the south west, bluegrass in the Appalachian, but that about sums it up and for once wouldn't be one of those "American sense of distances" to travel, but actually quite far. I like seeing locations of people for the sheer joy of seeing how far the influence of this gathering of players has reached. It is amazing to have a question asked and answered by someone clear across the ocean who I may never meet but have grown to know.

Secret nominal handshake. ;)

We used to sail fairly regularly on the Broads - hired Hustlers from Hunters Yard: lovely boats from the 1930s. Used to go along the dyke to Upton. Happy days ..... long ago.
