Can't post. Error message

You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This is on the strap too short discussion, I get this.

I think you might have fallen foul of the dreaded profanity filter which objects to the word 'Strap' when some users try to post.
It seems to affect different people randomly. It's a confounded nuisance and I'm not sure of a way round it.

It's the word 'strap' followed by the word 'on' that it doesn't like.

I had the same problem last week. I remember searching through the post especially for the word "strap" but couldn't find it nor anything else that seemed like it could be taken the wrong way.

I also regularly get ERROR 403s which require the sites cookies to be deleted for no very good reason as no other site I visit has a problem.

The 404 can be caused by too many links in a posting (more than 3 I think), or, as Anahata said, the stupid profanity filter.

I too have fallen foul of this anomaly today.  I will therefore try to beat the system with this post.

My problem is when I play for Morris, standing and wearing 2 straps.  I am constantly in fear of the strap over my left shoulder falling off, and often it does.  Has anyone else experienced and solved this problem?

I too had this problem Steve when I had my huge Paulo Soprani. I cured it by a third strap across the back to keep the two shoulder straps in place

Not getting involved in thread drift, but merely testing the strap hypothesis, I find that a back strap helps.

I tried to post earlier and kept getting the message raised by the OP (nothing rude in the post, honest). After a few attempts I now can't access mel.net from my desktop but can from my phone. Has my IP address been blocked and if so, will it ever be unblocked? Thanks. N

Nigelr, first thing to try is to clear cached pages from your browser, and then to clear cookies.

Hi Theo - no luck I'm afraid. Cache and cookies etc cleared but still can't access the site from my desktop in IE, Chrome or Firefox. If I connect my phone to my wireless network, it can't access the site, implying it is the main IP address that is being recognised. All other websites from my desktop are fine. Bizarre!
