Well, here's the thing. Much as I like L'Inconnu, and am happy to record it again (will do!) as the new TOTM champ, I rather like Mrs. Hamilton of Pencaitland too. How can I game the system so I can play that tune too, I ask myself? Well...

This month's theme, not entirely coincidentally, is tunes with a name in the name, any name, any person, all is good. So, let me see, that could cover Sweet Jenny Jones, Delilah (hello Pikey), Mrs Saggs, Annies Song and hundreds/thousands of other tunes including... Mrs. Hamilton of Pencaitland!

Sometimes I'm just shameless.

A nice open theme, with plenty of chance to choose well known or really quite obscure tunes to suit your taste - have a go!

Cheers,

Clive

Lester, how do you get the YouTube link to be a name instead of hieroglyphics ?

Instead of just pasting the link into the post window type the name of the tune, select by clicking and dragging across the name, then hit the insert link button and paste the URL into the text box then hit OK. That will make the text into a hot link. Simples!

La valse d'Émilie Benoit

Émilie Benoit's waltz, a great French-Canadian song.

Here's the ABC:

Here is my favourite version of the song (the melody is played on a fiddle): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXcxKX4BvsA

I've always liked this rendition. I'll have to give it a shot on my Lilly.

I like your playing very much. Very steady and good tempo!
What a beautiful waltz. Thanks for the ABC, I will learn it.

OK, OK so Lester beat me to it... 'tis only to be expected really  (:)

Here's my attempt at Albert Farmer's Bonfire Tune

For added bonus points this tune is both topical and local(ish) to me.
