On one occasion, I asked for help about 'how to make the basses sound more interesting', and I was astounded the next day, to find that Ollie had made a video and posted it in response to my question, showing me and others how he did it. I must have watched that video 50 times ...

Can you point me to that link?

Hopefully, you'll find it here stevejay: http://forum.melodeon.net/index.php/topic,15000.msg184875.html#msg184875

Re reading the OP perhaps the sense in which it should be read is that with those that are video or soundcloud posters or 'recording artistes' then it is easy to grasp their meaning by the way they can be seen / heard to play but it is not so easy when the poster hasn't got a recorded 'footprint' to refer to??

BB thank you for that - that's all and exactly what I meant in the OP - wish I'd put it as nicely. (:)

Yes. I was often wondering about this, too. Sometimes I just want to look at and listen to what someone is only writing about, so that I could put it into perspective for myself.

But there are some (and I'm NOT naming any names) who are happy to tell others how to play but seem reluctant to demonstrate their own playing.  RIght - I'll get me coat.

Then of course there are those of us who lack the ability to make videos. As I did until recently, when I got this old Mac with a built-in camera...but I find that I still lack the inclination. And the ego. And the talent.
