If you have a smart phone you could use the WAP site

Gosh, I'm astonished we're popular enough to have made a blacklist! No app imminent or likely - some forums use tapatalk, but I find it's a pain for those who choose not to use the app - it nags forum users who try to access through browsers, so that's a no go. Besides, whatever we did, it's highly likely that you're going to get that traffic blocked by the firewall too. You might get some luck with a commercial VPN service, assuming VPNs aren't blocked too.

ah, I shall bookmark that then! Thanks  (:)
Ps I was wondering (if this makes any sense) of any way to push melodeon.net activity such as thread responses to smartphones?
My work blocks almost all the web apart from YouTube and business sites. I keep up with Totm but rarely get the chance to respond on here. I had 19 pages of unread topic responses since I last read them.  :'(

There is a "notify" button at the bottom of every topic, I've never used it but it may send you the topic by email, or perhaps just notify you that new replies have been added.  Might be worth a try.

All the Notify button does is to tell that that there has been a reply. It doesn't send the text of the reply (I think Cnet does), and it only tells you about the first reply.
It's basically the same as when you post to a topic, and then get replies, except you don't have to post.

It has a couple of options, but I don't think it will email you the thread as it happens.

You can elect (in your profile) to be notified by email of replies to every topic that you have posted in. And yes, the email does contain the text of the message.

However, you won't get any further notifications of replies to the thread until after you have visited the site and viewed the thread. So you can't stay apprised of all developments without checking in. That's my experience anyway. I get notifications automatically but very often un-notify a topic that keeps generating new posts.

I used to be blocked as "www.melodeon.net" but found "http://forum.melodeon.net/index.php?action=unread" and clicks out of that were OK - so experiment. If it really is GCHQ I suspect you'll be locked in rather better that we were in NHS.

After a few years we were allowed up to an hour socialising per day, so didn't matter any more. We were then actually encouraged to prmote the good things we were doing on social media. (Maybe there was an election coming up)?

Thanks Chris - I will try the "Back Door" - it used to work with ebay once upon a time!

And no, it's not GCHQ lol - it just feels like it sometimes !!!
