Wimborne Folk Festival Founder Brian Bisp
« on: February 22, 2015, 02:46:53 PM »

Hi Gang, I should have put this up earlier, but just didn't think of it.
The funeral of the much loved founder of WFF takes place tomorrow at 12.30 pm at Poole (Dorset UK)
Crematorium. He was for many years the Bagman for Bourne River Morris. they have been asked to escort the hearse to the crematorium from the entrance. A very sad occasion, but I know he will have a wonderful send off.
If anyone has seen the film " Morris a life with bells on" will know it was filmed in Wimborne and with Brian's permission and of course his full support. Typical of him.
Nick.

  • In dampest Dorset, on the soggy south coast.

In case this is still in time for anyone who is able to go, the funeral is at Poole Crematorium on Gravel Hill. Morris dancers are requested to wear kit (no bells inside the Crematorium, of course).
There will be a wake/session afterwards in the Victoria Cross pub in Parkstone, musicians are invited to bring instruments.

More detail on Bourne River's Facebook page or their web site.

just an update. the crematorium was packed, standing room only and some outside. Brian had a lovely send off and would have been proud. as so he should be. the Bourne River escort was very moving.
