I ordered a Loffet Petit
« on: March 07, 2015, 02:49:52 PM »

Although I worry about finances like many of us, I ordered a Loffet  Petit in Cherry, GC, with a tuning @2 BPS.
It comes with a case and straps.

I am pleased, and can't wait to see and hear it. I'm especially looking forward to the stop to cut out the thirds, this is going to add another tonal area to explore.

Biggest decision was the tuning, and I think I chose correctly. I wanted some degree of "wetness," but not overpowering. I chose cherry because the music room comparison of Lillys in different woods on Youtube   All of this is subjective anyway.

Anyway, I have been a member of this community, and I think the members here understand my happy anticipation. Life gives us much to anticipate, not all of it as fun as waiting for a new accordion.

Thanks for reading.

I empathise with your excited but impatient wait for your new Loffet box. I felt exactly the same waiting for my Guais. I am sure it will be worth the wait.

Some things are more important than finances Stevejay, you can always live on bread and water for a few months! I too, am waiting for an order to arrive, so I know exactly how you are feeling! Congratulations and enjoy it when it arrives.

A couple of years back the Music Room had  Petit in G/C on their stall at Shrewsbury FF.
It was just so lovely I had to force myself to walk away!
Lovely thing, it'll be well worth the wait.

I think I'm starting to get most of the notes in roughly the right order...... sometimes!

I'm sure you'll like it ... I had a G/C Petit for several years. It was light and responsive ... Lots of fun. (The stop for the thirds was not then available, but you'll find it useful.) I eventually migrated to one of Bernard's 2.6 boxes, which I like very much. You shouldn't have to wait too long, either, I should think.  (:)

And of course the pound's stronger against the euro than it has been for some time, so it's a good time to buy from the continental makers.

Best wishes

PS so far anticipation goes, I've got another two years before my Gaillard's ready!

I have a pile of boxes...enough said I think in that respect. I get a strange feeling when I buy a new box, I get a guilty feeling, then I wish I hadn't bought it, then it all settles down. The one box I never had these feelings of regret about was my Loffet Touptit. Fabulous fast and responsive instrument that has actually improved my skills more than any other. Good luck with your purchase!

How long is the wait for the box? It'll be another 2 years wait for my Gaillard also :(

My first high end box was a Loffet Pro 2.5. I have it still and love it still.

Well it arrived, and it's exactly what I wanted.

Actually the "petit" is a bit larger and heavier than I expected, easier to hold than a Castagnari lily, and plenty of bellows.

Now I have 2 nice GCs, the Hohner will have to be up for sale soon, I can't justify both.

Bernard was very helpful, and communicated throughout our entire transaction.

He's good, isn't he? Glad it all went well, and that you like the box.
