Logging In
« on: May 26, 2015, 04:04:54 PM »

When I leave Melnet to check my mail or Google, on my return to these hallowed glades I have to log in again. No big deal, but it has only recently started to happen. This is on my iPad by the way....

That is almost certainly something to do with your iPad.  Try the usual thing eg clearing cache, browsing history and restart the iPad.

I have been unable to maintain a signon in Safari since OS 8.3 came out, and moreover am losing all my BBC weather tracking. I suspect a cookies bug - but no heads up on google!

Have cleared my cache (again) and will report back.

I've "cleaned out all web data", I've booted down Safari, I've even rebooted the iPad, all to no avail. Seems a sign in lasts about an hour, and then evaporates. need to password back in again.  :Ph

There are similar issues mentioned on googling and I think this is an OS 8.3 big rsther than a meltnet fault. But I'd really expected a fix in a couple of months. Am now getting a bit bored with it

Is Clive tuning in here? Believe you program/use iPads - do you get this problem? Or anyone else … has anyone found a solution?

No such problems on my "Mac" incidentally

I have a fairly new ipad that I use for melnet.  It has 8.3 and no problem staying logged in.

I was glumly accepting that I would be forever logging in on Melnet but this morning the problem seems to have sorted itself without any intervention or action from me. I've been bouncing back and forth between Google, my eMails and here without having to log in once...hope it lasts...
