Maugein - new website
« on: April 14, 2015, 02:18:32 PM »

One year on from the rescue, and the new Maugein owners have finally got a much-improved website together (but just in French). There are a few changes to the diatonic range, including a rather nice "2014" compact keyboard version of the 2-row Luthinier. It will be interesting to see if they start to promote them outside France. http://www.accordeons-maugein.com/

It's just open in Google Chrome navigator  :D  So you choose the option to translate to which language and it presents for you the entire website already translated.

Ah, and I see they're doing a 2-row "Mixte" with Stradella bass - very interesting!  (:)

Yes, its very strange they do not show up more often outside france.

They do sometimes turn up here in Sweden, mostely secondhand older models. Moste Maugein boxes I've ever come across, (being 5 boxes all G/C and 2 voice if remembering correctly), have been very nice to play with a great sound and good respons, but all a bit on the heavy side to my taste.

I liked a lot their diatonics 8bass. Basic and charming design.  (:)

Not sure I see the value of the mixte bass on a 2 row unless B/C.... C#/D  etc

I guess they are "old school," is the ca. 1998-style website design meant to be "ironic"?
