If it was a three voice then it wasn't an Erika, that name was only used on 2 voice models.

I can't get on with Hohners, my fingers disappear down the button holes

As with bellows technique this is learned behavior. If you don't want the buttons to go down the hole, don't press them so hard.

When I pick up my cat I am aware that If I squeeze him hard I could throttle the little brute - I don't because I know he loves me.  :-\

Control in all things.

I tried a 3voice 2.5 row old Erika

Yeah, maybe if you played in a box with those same colors and forms so maybe it was a Hohner CORSO ...
(also we have some older double rays in 3voice. I've seen they named always as "Double Ray Deluxe" when were 3voice models)

Who have the both, or had with the both in hands any time, realize differences in the sound (louder, more powerful in the 3voice models) and mainly differences in SIZE. The 3voice models has the box a little little bigger.

If you are sure sure that it was a Hohner Erika (because saw it written in the box maybe), so for sure it was 2voice and not 3voice.

Mike, fair comment.
I was brought up on a Tommy which has an open keyboard so never had to deal with this phenomena until I tried a Hohner.

Didn't Mike Rowbotham modify at least one Erika/Club 2 for 3 voices? People were talking about it at Mendlesham 2 or 3 years back.
Although it's perhaps unlikely that Rowbotham special would have buttons that disappeared down the holes.

Ah.... sorry, missed Theo's comment.
I'm afraid I'm showing my ignorance of Hohners amid very knowledgable Hohner owners!.
It was around WWII, black bodywork and Hohner graphics down the fronts, I think it was Club (?) system that might have been altered in the past ......  but to be honest I didn't take that much notice.
I played it for a couple of tunes but felt my fingertips, particularly the bass side, were getting sore so I returned it to it's owner.
It was a lovely thing, but not really 'my' thing I'm afraid.

Erikas are easy to identify cos that have the name printed on the front.

I have a lovely Hohner Pressed Wood modified by Mike R. which is 3 voice D/G, with stops on LH to remove thirds and RH to remove the low voice. They are the 'give away'. Plays like a dream and no disappearing buttons.
