Weekend of traditional dance in York 12/13 September
« on: August 12, 2015, 09:06:24 AM »

On 12th and 13th September Ebor Morris are hosting the 28th York Festival of traditional dance, with 200 dancers and musicians from 16 teams dancing morris, clog, rapper, border and longsword in the streets and squares of historic York.

We start on Saturday with a procession from St Helens Square to Kings Square at 10:30, dance throughout the day, and there's a grand showcase in St Sampsons Square form 3:30 to 5.  Then more dancing on Sunday 11 to 2.

Any Melnetters are welcome to come and watch, and to join us in the Black Swan pub in Peasholme Green for our social event on the Saturday night from about 7:30 . We are taking over the whole pub, so there should be some good sessions !

I'm a Yorkie!
My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.
