What a Great Site this is...
« on: May 20, 2009, 05:11:40 PM »

What a great forum this is - is there any way of alerting the www to what a wonderful place this is? Is there perhaps somewhere we can go to vote for our forum? Or should we keep quiet in a desperate attempt to keep the place to ourselves?

It's a truly delightful forum Al! I think those who have the interest will find it soon enough.

You do have to be a bit interested in melodeons to enjoy it, you know........ ;D

This is the 6th? 7th? forum that I've subscribed to and I have to say that it is very pleasant indeed. I am but a relative newbie still, but in my sadly typical style I see that I am already some way up the member list sorted by posts  :-\

Just tell all your box playing friends about it.  There are still some who are not members.

And there are some that think it's for melodeon geeks, not melodeon players  :o ;D

Every forum I participated to had its share of geekology, I guess it's just a fact of life!

How can a melodeon be for geeks? Once you bang out a few tunes with a reggae beat, include a bit of a swaggeresgue dance whilst you play and the melodeon becomes nothing but pure cool.

Hey, in any merengue band, conjunto group, or Norteno line-up the cool guy is the one with the squeeze-box.

Well now, that depends on how you define geekery...and that's not an argument I want to get in to!

I'm not good enough to be a geek yet - is there a special term for apprentice geeks? Hopefully not "You're fired" though.  8)

I'm a Yorkie!
My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

I'm not sure yet that people who admit to being geeks actually are geeks. I think a real geek doesn't actually know that they're a Geek?
