Good morning everyone!

Here is my try: https://youtu.be/uJXL_YuOaII

It was a straight shot, no ornaments at all  >:E I did it with a metronome on my ear, so I hope the 105bpm are there.

Greetings to all,
Pequod

I know I've done it before, as mentioned at the top of the thread, but This Version of The Recruiting Officer is from Playford's Dancing Master Vol 2 as recently published on the Village Music Project web site, and as far as I know the earliest known version of the tune. Playing style Inspired by Neil Brooke's much slower and 'dotted' rhythm, and most likely more in keeping with the way 6/8 tunes were played and danced around 1720 when Playford V2 was first published.

Very nice indeed. Playford dance groups mostly seem to move around in a stately/courtly way, as if they have imaginary books balanced on their heads, whereas I like to think at least some Playford dances are vigorous and exciting, for which you would need a tune like this.

My effort, it'll be a while before I can play it cleanly, I seem to panic and just get the notes in parts

End of the month folks; and onto the next tune - late additions welcome as ever; just stick 'em on the end!
