In the light of this Monster Melodeonist - does anyone know of anymore that we could add to the list? Dictators, melodeon playing murderers, all round Crims & bad guys etc?

Leadbelly played melodeon

Lead Belly spent his share of time in Southern prisons. Convicted on charges of murder (1917) and attempted murder (1930)

Not the instrument of a monster but one that helped someone survive one

Though the picture of their leader is obviously retouched;

there was many's the jackbooted nazi that played one;

so that you might wonder where some of those pre-war pokerworks, or club models had been, or what had been played on them...

Mind you, you'd almost feel sorry for the guy with the pokerwork and the apron in this snapshot;

whilst you'd seriously wonder about this bunch;  :o

But, of course, Hitler played a Hohner Verdi IIIB piano accordion, and not a melodeon!

At least, accordion to this: WWII Veteran Remembers His Accordions

AL,
I'm pretty sure that there was a former dictator of the Dominican Republic who might not have played melodeon, but promoted it during his regime.  Name escapes me at the moment.

Some Dominican Melodeoning

Lovely, thanks Lester. I got lost in that merengue stuff for quite some time. Most of them seem to be playing Bb/Eb boxes.
Fab music.
