An hour in a room full of melodeons? it was heaven!
You should try an hour in the Melodeons @ Witney Trade Show. So many melodeons, so many players, so many ability levels, so where's the asprin  ;D

As with everything, it never pays to sneak up on what you really want. I play Cajun one row and started with a Hohner 114c, nice to learn on and a good player can make it sound fabulous, but the first time I played a hand-made Louisiana Cajun box was a revelation. I fell in love. The only way I can describe it is: the box MADE me play better.  A quality instrument of almost any sort will make a difference.
I agree you should go to a shop that has a good selection of quality instruments and find one that speaks to you. Don't get a Morgane, you would be better off having someone like www.irishdancemaster.com work on the key action etc. of your Erica.
