Renee De La Prade's Custom "Rebel" stolen (RECOVERED)
« on: January 29, 2016, 05:51:43 PM »

Renee's custom Rebel accordion has been stolen in the San Francisco bay area.
It is a D/D# with 12 bass buttons laid out in a variation of a freebass system.
It has a heart done in gold bellows tape on the bellows so it is distinctive.

Here's a more detailed picture of the accordion. It went missing in Oakland around January 16/17 2016. Key: D/Eb w/ custom 12-tone bass system. It could turn up on the internet, flea markets or pawn shops... thanks for helping to keep an eye out for it if you can. Make: Weltmeister Wiener 511-21  Serial # 1402044

I play in D/D# using several custom bi-directional bass systems, used mostly for power-chords and moving bass lines rather than traditional oom-pahs. My life quest is to fuse folk music with rock n roll and somehow earn a living doing it.

According to a recent Facebook post by Renee, her melodeon has now been recovered.
It was purchased in a fleamarket, and the buyer then did some online research on the box.
Finding all the publicity about the theft, he then contacted Renee.

I realise that this is a fairly old post , but I just noticed that the Photo of Renee herself had nearly twice as many views as that of her melodeon !!  just goes to show that a picture of a pretty young girl, can still excite even us jaded old melodianists.

For folks that are Renee fans she is currently working on the new Accordion Babes calendar it should be available in a week or so.

The (simplified) story of Renees accordion is that a person bought it at a Flea Market about 20 miles from where it was stolen did some research found out that Renee worked at my shop ,called me and said how he got it and felt bad for Renee asked if I knew how to get it to her and dropped it off at the shop, I paid him what he paid for it though he did not ask for payment, Renee's sister was flying to Europe the next day so it was gotten to her and flew there and was shipped to renee in Germany.
