Steve Jordan - billed as World's Best Accordionist
« on: June 04, 2009, 08:04:18 PM »

I read an interesting article yesterday about Steve Jordan.  Some of you might know who he is.  I've seen him play, and he's definitely over the top, but he's not my thing - I don't care for the music itself.  I prefer pretty melodies.  Last time I saw him I got totally sloshed and had a great time of it  - such a good time that I was unable to recover from it for two days afterwards.  Here's the story about him  -

Steve Jordan has always been my favorite No American accordionist

I don't think anyone ever got as creative as El Parche. He can play traditional music as well as avant garde, over the top jazz lines and discordant riffs that just seem to soar.

While not to everyone's taste, his skill is universally admired.

There is a recent discussion about him on the Reyes Accordion Discussion group.
