Poll: Tune of the Month for March 2016
« on: February 25, 2016, 12:26:20 AM »

Hi folks, voting time again!

This month, we start with last month's close runner up, the Gaspe Reel here played by Gavin Atkin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Od8fHhyiag and here at Quebecois speed by Serge Carrier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_3_YeG9eL4

Dr Fauster's Tumblers - 18th Century English by all accounts, here played by Lester https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK6U9ZzxzkY

Dennis Crowther's No.2 - a cracking little jig, again from Lester's playing - here it is: http://lesters-tune-a-day.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/tune-3-dennis-crowthers-no.html (1st tune of this set, though feel free to stick No.1 on the end if you like).

La Sansonnette - can't believe we haven't had a crack at this yet! At the risk of pushing my own video, here it is on a Hohner C/F https://youtu.be/OVH5oAJt44Y?t=2m7s  and there are quite a few others out there too, like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT52Y7YqN2Y and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89fh8X8KpSw . I used to think ideally it needed accidentals to get that opening few notes right (one of the reasons it hasn't been nominated yet), but the last example seems to zap along quite nicely without apparently hitting any accidentals, so perhaps you can get away with it quite easily.

There you go, nearly March already!
