The UK copyright collection society "PRS CS" claimed to possess the copyright to this. I therefore deleted the video.

I've had several videos flagged up for copyright by YouTube's automated system, which also told me I didn't have to do anything. They haven't deleted them; are you sure you really needed to delete yours?

I'm in the same place as Anahata, a few of my videos got flagged but nothing happened.

Yes.

Google told me that the Performing Right Society will get the revenue from adds they may show with the video. But I have no interest in wasting time and bandwith with adds. And I have even less interest to earn this fraudulent PRS CS even as much as one farthing.

Here we are - a good excuse to shake these out from my 'almost learned' repertoire, 3 tunes from the inestimable Brian Peters:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJM9w8ulQHc

These are:

- The Box in the Attic
- Northern Nanny
- The Low Flier

Brian wrote the 1st and 3rd; the 2nd is traditional. Unusually for me, I do twice through each tune and change (as Brian does, I recall) and the whole set works very nicely like that. It is hard work though, and when I got to the end I was a little surprised to find it only lasted 3 minutes - seemed a lot longer somehow  ;)

Played on a Castagnari Giasco in D/G; the concertina nature of the reeds in this box suiting the tunes nicely.

A few of my Youtubes, with a bit of full-tilt, all the bells and whistles playing at the beginning followed by slow instructional stuff for the Horsmonden workshoppers:

The Patacake https://youtu.be/UXueF_A9aLY

Jenny Lind https://youtu.be/NAx4DUS3XUI

My version of The Dennington Bell https://youtu.be/gUjdkkEU6XI

As so often, looking back on my instructional vids I realise they're a tad slower than I'd play them for dancing or in a session, but you get the idea...

A second Berlin Polka: Die Holzauktion, played on the Weltmeister 86w (two-voiced discant) and for comparison on a Dino Baffetti Art. 84 (three-voiced discant, MML), both in C/F tuning.

Oooh - I like that too! Gavin

Dear God, thank you for helping me get and play the melodeon and harmonica. I am extremely grateful for these gifts! Amen.

In today's video, I play the ever so popular polka tune Just Because on my Accordiola Mundinger Diaton III Grand Luxe club accordion. :D

Enjoy! :D

LNB Polka (La Roulante), one of my favourite session tunes.  Perhaps a slightly over ambitious key change last time through in an attempt to add some variety (:)

Return of Spring & Woodland Revels

https://youtu.be/tHoFnc9eAuM

Return of Spring is recently learnt while preparing for a concertina workshop, and then from hearing  'Shipshape' play it. I had long been seeking a suitable partner for Woodland Revels and this was 'it'. Woodland Revels was (very) a steep learning curve in the 1980's, inspired by the playing of Dan Quinn, with a couple of tips from Nigel Chippindale at a workshop at Felixstowe Folk Weekend.

A bit rough and ready and probably a bit speedy but hopefully a bit of seasonal fun. Think Squirrels!

All the best

Bill

Lovely tune, Bill. Are there dots available, for the slow eared, by any chance?

I agree, the more I hear of Sebastian's playing, the more I like it!

Well played and thanks for the timely reminder. This was a little beyond me a while ago (had the melody but couldn't add the bass end properly) time to drag it back out!

Another French Polka, but from Auvergne this time, and with no other name than "Polka". Played on the oldest box i have found, and it's in Bb.

Polkas from England, Scotland and France. Wherever they come from polkas always seem fun to play!
