Three Angle Brides: how to get started?
« on: July 28, 2019, 10:49:13 PM »

I am trying to learn Three Angel Brides from Mark O'Connors' Johnny Appleseed Suite.
I can sing it (sort of) but can't seem to find the right note to start it out on or the right key to try and make it out in.  It does not seem like it has too many accidentals that I could make it happen, but...
I AM NOT TOO PROUD TO BEG.
Appreciate any suggestions.  It's too new to be part of folk tradition and it's copywrite and not on tunefinder sites, etc. and it is   not one of the pieces he has on his sheet music site.
(he was teaching one of his fiddle camps this weekend just 2 ½ hours away but I did not find out about it till this afternoon!)
Thanks, Steve C.

It can be done on a standard fourth apart box with the usual accidentals, but the part using the accidentals will have to be played with the usually phrasing and arrangement considerations...which in this case is somewhat more than the usual problem owing to the weak melodic structure at that point.
Something with a stronger melodic flow is easier to do on the two-row when you aren't having to make up for weak composition.
