Poll: Tune of the Month for June 2016
« on: May 25, 2016, 12:09:17 AM »

Evening all! Here's this month's selection

Firstly, last months close runner up - Bonny Kate - as Lester says, an English ceilidh favourite; here demonstrated by Lester - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMve33Toyyk and here: http://lesters-tune-a-day.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/tune-75-bonny-kate.html

Nominated by Tami, comes Partie du Lancier - piano accordion version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxZ3kHY9jCg and a recording of Philippe Bruneau here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykuf0agQQmo [ Worth having a detour and listening to the rest of that album on the same playlist if like me you've never heard Philippe's playing before ]

A couple more session standards to finish off:

Three Sea Captains - oddly, can't find many melodeon versions of this, but here's a bass free version played on a C#/D, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eisVZ1GXddQ which also acts as a nice tutorial

Salmon Tails up the Water - again, very ably demonstrated by Lester: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SS4ybPAmT8w

Happy voting!

Clive
