Don't know about the other instruments, but the picture which is supposed to show "Epinette des Vosges" shows mainly Hummeln. It is taken from here.

Saw some of the Foot Basses at the musical instrument museum in Brussels (along with 1900s Lachanel English Concertinas, which are apparently museum pieces now)

Thought they seems useful for playing in sessions. Didn't realise some are still made.

Sorry about the crappy url, I was mostly smitten by the foot bass, which has already been posted in previous years on melnet, as I remember, somewhere...

For many of these, the question can only be "why"? (Apart from Tim Philips' violins of course.) I was also impressed to see that the American Antiques Road Show does musical instruments, unlike our own dear ARS ...

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

Thank you for the Haines article, had not seen it.  The reeds in this must be MONSTERS.
