Tune played on TV
« on: June 30, 2016, 02:19:25 PM »

Does anyone know the name of the great tune that was played in the first episode of - The Living and the Dead on BBC 1 TV.
It was played at about 8.15 mins - at a dance around a bonfire, I don't know many English tunes and would like to learn that one.

There's a link here on iPlayer

Thanks a lot

The tune's "Enrico" (or "Jacob") - enter it in the Forum's search box and you'll get plenty of hits  (:)

It is. Just put the tune of your choice before or after it and voila!

The tune played after it around our local sessions is Twin Sisters ( see thesession.org or other tune sites).

Dorsetshire Hornpipe or Gypsy's Hornpipe (the Thomas Hardy one) would both be good pairings, all from Thomas Hardy.
Just about any English 4/4 hornpipe played in straight quavers would work, and some of us play Enrico with a dotted rhythm, which would work with any other dotted rhythm hornpipe e.g. the Committee Band's first album puts it with The Redesdale.

Another vote for Thomas Hardy's Gypsy's...some pairings are made in heaven (or Dorset...)
