I attach a PDF for a sheet of business cards advertising the flat key session.  Pass them on.

Great!

BTW does the surname mean you know some Croatian tunes?  (I have some family connections there, but not folky ones - visited last month).  If so that would be a first for the Eurosession.

A couple, but being in 7/8 they're no very joinable-in...

[don't know if I'll be at the Eurosession -- when and where is it?]

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3pm-5pm, upstairs at the Yacht Club (on the pier, next to the lifeboat museum).  Also a session on Wednesday night after Stewart Hardy and Frank MacLaughlin's set in the same venue (60 minutes, starts at 8pm).  Mostly French "bal folk" but other stuff welcome.

Right chaps, we now have a confirmed plan for Melnet meets/sessions:

Monday 22nd, 11:30 to 12:30 upstairs in the Middle Earth: Melnet meet and greet . A chance to put faces to names and chat about melodeons . Maybe a few slow and steady tunes if we feel like it . Facilitated by me, Bob Ellis and Steve . All ages and capabilities welcome , for existing, lapsed, and potential Melnetters !

Thursday 25th, 1:15 to 2:15 in the Elsinore: Slow and steady melodeon session with a leader.
All capabilities welcomed. Pauses between tunes to socialise. Probable tune list will be published later this week, tunes for DG boxes . Facilitated by me, Bob Ellis, and Steve Dumpleton.

Thursday 25th, 2:15 to 4:30ish in the Elsinore: free flow melodeon heavy session, no leader . Mostly 'English' tunes. All welcome (even banjos )

See you there !

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

I'm sorry to be so thick, but.......the Monday thing at Middle Earth is Melnet and not part of the official Whitby Folk Week, yes. However, the other two sessions at the Elsinore on the Thursday are Whitby Folk Week organised and therefore ticketed by them as part of the general festivities?

All of these three are fringe events and not part of the official programme , hence free entry no ticket needed, but we will pass the hat round to raise money for the festival charity

That'll be 16.00 my time - just before G&T time. What tune shall we play to open the not-Whitby meet?

What have you got against minor keys, Pikey? I think there should be at least a couple of tunes in Em on your list.
