Also thanks to Bob Ellis for a splendid and very entertaining workshop on the tunes of the Yorkshire Dales.  Not many people can pack in so much stuff in such a stimulating way, with humour, plenty of info to take away and then finish on time!

Many Thanks to Ken and all the other workshop and session leaders at Whitby although timetable clashes meant I missed lots of interesting stuff.
I had a smashing time and hope to see you all again next year.
Off to catch up on sleep now ..

Steve: I am glad that your one-row workshop was not scheduled for 10.00 because it would have clashed with my Tunes from the Yorkshire Dales workshop and I would have been unable to attend yours. Even scheduled when it was, I could not make the start of your workshop, as you know.
Aha! yes of course. I was forgetting that when I made my previous remark; sorry Bob!
As it happened, it was probably the best option in a set of tight schedules. I would have liked to have attended your YD tunes workshop too...

And thanks to Pikey for leading off so many of the tunes at the flat key session - it all got a bit chaotic at times with so many people trying to connect with their Inner Flatness, but great fun.  Another one next year?  (A few people came up to me afterwards asking if there was going to be another one later in the week, so it must have worked).

Thanks to all who played or sang at workshops chaired by Vic Gammon or me, and a special thanks to those who turned up the short-notice Phoenix Dance Band performance/ session.

Thanks very much for the kind words, Mike, and also to those of you who provided positive feedback to me after the workshop (and hopefully to the festival management as well!) If they are willing, I'll run another one next year because there are plenty more good tunes where those came from!

Thanks also to those who contributed to my Well Known Tunes at a Steady Pace sessions and helped to make them an enjoyable experience for all concerned. I was especially heartened by three people, unconnected with each other, who said that this was either the first session they had ever attended or that it was the first one where they had felt comfortable. Comments like that make it all worthwhile!

Can I add my thanks to Steve for his excellent one-row workshop and to Ken for the session of his I was able to attend. I enjoyed both immensely and wish I had been able to attend Ken's other sessions, but other commitments got in the way.

Well I enjoyed those meets I could get to. Stewarding duties got in the way of so much. Next year, I may give up on the stewarding, and go as a punter.
I MC'd a couple of evenings at the Festival Folk Club, as cover for Andy Casserley, as he had to go home, due to a family bereavement ( I believe )
But all in all a great week, and nice to meet Mike Rowbotham, in the flesh, as it were ;)

Feedback time - did the Structure of the Melnet meets work for you ? Any comments ? Any improvements needed for next year ?

It was good to see and meet you all at the events we had .

I seem to remember that some people wanted name badges for all for the meet, but very few wished to put this into practice, if it meant writing on a plain sticky white label!
