A Queensland tune on a C/G BUSILACCHIO
« on: June 29, 2009, 08:35:43 AM »

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORiKbL7B0Mo Has anyone at all heard of Henry's Waltz? This originated from Queensland, Australia (I think Aboriginal). It uses lots of double notes (major 3rds) and is a nice, catchy AABB waltz. It is played in the key of C and both rows are used on this C/G BUSILACCHIO melodeon.
I'm personally really keen to hear what people think of this Australian tune and whether you know any more about it!

It is a popular and catchy waltz at Aussie sessions.

Hi Dmentias, the key of G version sounds pretty good in that key. I have two accordions like the one Barney's playing (right) that I bought of Harry McQueen of Castlemaine. Mine are C and G (both single rows with stops). Who is the gent on the left? I haven't actually heard it a whole lot in the jams I've attended but more hear 'Rose of Alandale'. Thanks for your link.  Hector
