Tune of the Month for October 2016: Nadiejda
« on: October 01, 2016, 09:24:34 AM »

Nadiejda - from the late, great, Stephane Delicq. There's a bit of work to do in getting the right feel on this, but we have some *great* videos to work from in this thread http://forum.melodeon.net/index.php/topic,17618.20.html - notably this from Arty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIX-QYB8I2U and this from Massimo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0Q6IEDHvfY

Does anyone happen to have any ABC to hand for this?

A good tune to learn from this one; we're not all Stephane Delicq - in fact none of us are, so have a go and see how far you get. Even played simply by mortals, it's still a lovely piece.

Cheers,

Clive

A couple of sketch approximations only, (not an apology). David's fingering video was a great help, and I also dipped into online versions including Stephane Delicq playing the tune for dance, which was the least specific and most 'free' of those I heard. I suspect this may become a regular 'knoodle' tune. (A good opportunity to exercise the old GC pressed wood in any event.)

I recorded this one back in 2014 for a "Theme of the Month": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=230_gZh83vs
I would very much like to add some more variations however.

Golem's naughty. Golem shouldn't listen to these recordings. Not yet.

I always think this one is the 'definitive version' (if such a thing can be said to exist)...

But it's the man himself playing, so for me it's worth taking on board.

Agreed - I love that video and the variations he puts in, whilst appearing to be almost asleep!

A couple of scores for Nadiejda from the amazing database of repertoire for diatonic accordion at Accademia del Mantice. Enjoy!

First try .. no fancy stuff, few mistakes, maybe a bit too slow for dancing.

I will post an improved version of it in a few days.

Beautiful tune, I'll enjoy giving this a spin tonight. Am not sure how it will sit on d/g though.

Well I reckon you've nailed that very nicely, even with the little jazzy runs etc. 10/10 from me (not that that means much....(:) )

Here's a recording we did 3 years ago of this lovely tune. We found that the A and B parts will work together like a counter melody.

A lovely bit of playing, Roland - and nice to hear the birds joining in!

Thanks Chris.
The birds always seem to join in when we play outside. I think that perhaps they think that we are aggressors in their territory but it always pleases me when I hear the recording  (:)

Roland, I enjoyed that video on so many levels.  Beautifully done. (To you AND the birds)

And the garden by the way...
And well, of course the playing...

Here's the Kay Albrecht Liliput's G/C's take on Nadiejda - any issues are my playing, and not the box which loves this sort of stuff! Haven't quite got the hang of the thumb stuff, but playing the 6th apart bits with first and third fingers is pretty straightforward on this box - the spacing of the buttons means things fall to hand easily.
