Lovely tune....but how do you pronounce its name?  :-\
It comes from the Russian girl's name meaning 'Hope', of which 'Nadia' is a diminutive form.
The pronunciation is something like Nad-yeh-dah. The equivalent name in Russian Cyrillic characters is Надежда which is pronounced Nad-yezh-dah.
That's about the limit of my 'O'-level Russian (so long ago!), so perhaps a Russian speaker will come along and correct me and/or expand on what I've written... :|bl

You're doing better than me  I can ask "Is that a chair?" and reply, with no uncertainty "Yes, that is a chair..."

Here's a version from me. Had to do one, otherwise I promised myself that I wouldn't listen to other people until I had.

Well that was just perfect! Two thumbs up, 21 gun salute, my glass is raised to you, sir!!!

That really is the best version I have heard other than the original.

Only problem is I was really hoping to get this posted this month and that is an impossible act to follow.  I can't even get the chords down much less the excellent extra parts you play as he does in the live version.  Play and Teach, that was downright inspirational!

Well that's improved my evening. Just caught the edge of the table tennis table with my bat - torn the red rubber. That's £50 down the drain just for the red rubber (Tenergy 05 FX if you're interested) - and we thought melodeons were expensive.
I can of course only see the warts in my playing. Also fed up with the jerky camera with poor audio (used Yeti mic this time) - so if anyone can recommend a decent camera where I don't need external audio, let me know (pm maybe rather than thread drift, or start a new thread). I know there's lots of threads on recording already.
Anyway, off the point. Thanks, both, for the thumbs up.

Better sound quality than the original recording we have to go on... And, as you know, I have watched and listened to that box with coveted interest, and I must say it does sound better than ever!

P&T - a great version, thanks!  I like that box A LOT, it sounds fantastic and you really did the tune proud.

Following your inspiring version, here's mine, definitely more than one mistake but I really wanted to get something in before the end of the month as Delicq is where I seem to be at right now, and I am loving my new (to me!) G/C box.

Thanks, and well done yourself - I wouldn't worry about slips, they don't define the playing. I see we both play in the kitchen.

Hello friends, what a nice tune this one! Here's my try: https://youtu.be/wH-R2RfK1n4

BTW, I'll be in London next weekend, please let me know if you advice any good places to watch traditional music (melodeon or not). Unfortunatly Cecil Sharp house is not having much this weekend >:(

These are beautifully played, especially P&T's interpretation.  Inspiring and motivating.  When I raised a topic about when to suppress thirds, Stevejay and Anhata explained about leaving thirds in and crossing the bass.  Arty suggested learning the tune of the month because it has crossed basses, so I have had a go, with thirds in.

Above are fine versions - but now one from a beginner!  It was a very steep learning curve to try crossed basses and chorded right hand.  Not very smooth and my right index finger misses a few times but hey ho.......  https://youtu.be/xa2y0MHNdYI

I think this has a lot going for it. You certainly don't sound like a beginner. I do find using my thumb helps with chords in the right hand. Well done, and the box sounds great too.

If you're still in London next Monday 7th, pop down to the George Inn session, at the George Inn near London Bridge station... roughly 8-8.30ish to 11pm. Bring your melodeon if you have it with you!

Thanks P&T.  Will work at using my thumb for the chords.
It is fifteen months now since I bought the box and started learning - still think of myself as a beginner.  Don't know what the next stage is called; maybe "improver".
I do love the sound my wee Saltarelle makes.  Listened to many many others before buying it.
