In the archive, from an old edition (119), I came across this;

"How heurt it anyway?
What you know and especially not to do in a folk session. Rolf Groeneveld makes us the ropes in the unwritten rules of etiquette session.
"

So, it's a problem in the Netherlands as well I see!

Very nice site, Sietze. I hope you can survive with a printed edition. So many special-interest magazines have now gone online only, or perhaps been supplanted by forums such as this one. ;) But I miss paper copies of publications that you can take to the café or on the bus. Bravo and good luck.

Thanks Stiamh (is that Celtic for Steve...?  (:) )
We have around seven hundred subscibers end many more loyal readers and this has been a stable figure for years and hopefully it will last for another while.
In the next issue (dec '16) I have written a review of the latest CD by the Markku Lepistö Trio, from Finland.
This music has been (strongly) inspired by the French Canadian accordion music. Which you would probably know well.. ?
Greetings from Holland

Hi Sietze, thanks for the update. Yes, friends call me Steve - the "mh" spelling is a an old joke.

And yes, very familiar with québécois box playing - how could I not be, living here for coming up to 30 years? I listened to bits of Markku L playing on YouTube - very fine player - I didn't come across anything particularly Canadian-sounding but will keep my eyes and ears open.

Greetings from a little town that suddenly seems a bit too close to the American border... (:)

Can I suggest a solution?

Oops, correction:
Stiamh, i get slapped in the face by my fellow editors.

The newest CD of the Markku Lepisto Trio "New Voices" features some French Canadian influenced tunes.
Reminds me strongly of Philippe Bruneau...
