Great to hear you've found new inspiration!  It seems to go like that, a sort of plateau when nothing progresses much and then...  Usually it comes from contact with other players, so you can see what they're doing and copy the basics of it.

Good luck.

Rob.

It brings me a great deal of joy too. I have started taking my box to work so I can practise at lunch time - the kids love it (I am a teacher).

For some reason best known to myself I stopped playing for around 16 years  put my Hohner in the loft and......   then was persuaded to re learn for a school morris side, it was hard and frustrating  but the pleasure that I now get from playing is immense.  I think I really appreciate having a second chance  to play and although the nerves are still there age has taken the edge off!    Its great to play ;D

Wohoo - great idea to take the box to work!!!!! I wish I could play at work when I have time - just that I work nights in a hospital... maybe not such a good idea ;D

Chas, good to hear from you! I actually thought about you and your leaking concertina today:) I've had my Castagnari box for 2 years and my organetto for 7 months but haven't had the time or patience to start learning until now.... I've had a blast today with a pizzicarella, some waltzes and Irish polkas!! Life is good when there are squeezeboxes in it.

Wow, that's cool! I hope I can be there! I should still be in holidays then. I promise to bring all my toys, including my husband!!  ;D ;D
Today I sat down playing the organetto for 2 hours and actually learned a salterello from the region of Abruzzo. So much fun!
