Martin Ellison is on of the great players who is known and admired by his many friends, but who has never sought the limelight. A hidden treasure amount melodeon players.

That inspired me to spend an evening with the Mittell book in front of me trying to learn the tune. It doesn't help much that the original is in B flat  :o

Unfortunately, I haven't prepared anything for this TotM, (things being a bit frantic on this side of the pond), but I came across this little gem, The Log Driver's Waltz from Canada. The tune is performed by the much beloved McGarrigle Sisters, Anna and Kate. They both sang and were astute on many instruments, including melodeons. Kate passed away in 2010. Thought this would be a good piece to share for the topic. Cheers,...F

Hello Anahata!
You may find that I've 'adapted' the tune to fit my box/style/ability!

After many months inexcusable absence from these environs here's a song (with melodeon of course) for this theme.  'Fraid it's a bit crudely recorded and edited.

Nice to see you back Mcgrooger! End of the month everyone, and time for a new theme which i'll post up in a sec. Late contributions welcome as ever - stick 'em on the end.
