Interesting band lineup
« on: January 22, 2017, 06:09:59 PM »

http://www.scran.ac.uk/database/record.php?usi=000-000-463-414-C

(you can see the full-sized image for free if you work in some parts of the education sector or have a Scottish library card).

Left to right:

Highland pipes
Melodeon
Rifle

One way to deal with bagpipe or accordion jokes.  You'd think they'd have included a banjo.

I can't figure out how to quit but I will no longer check this group and have deleted all shortcuts to it.

My other melodeon's a fiddle, but one of my Hohners has six strings! I also play a very red Hawkins Bazaar in C and a generic Klingenthaler spoon bass in F.!! My other pets (played) are gobirons - Hohner Marine Band in C, Hohner Tremolo in D and a Chinese Thingy Tremolo in G.

Splendid - Almost rivals the famous Hammons family of West Virginia lineup of fiddle, shotgun and phonograph. Here's the pic - https://www.loc.gov/folklife/LP/AFSL65andL66_Hammons.pdf

Thanks Chris - you might like this pic, which was inspired by the Hammons photo. It features characters that you'll recognise, plus the chainsaw-wielding pub landlord. Photo by Annie Dearman.
