Daisy Belle

Lester's recently posted tune was Daisy Belle and as my grandchildren love this tune, I thought I would learn it properly. If you look on ABCnotation it has full tune, verses and chorus. For such a well known tune it is actually trickier to play than you might think. I find it a really good exercise in playing strictly to time (steady omph pah pah ) requiring cross row playing on RH to match. Give it a go. Thank you Lester, yet again. BTW, the lyrics for verses are odd, perhaps why nobody sings them any longer for young children. Originally song was a satire about royal goings-on.

More than many might have wanted to know, but I found it interesting.

It is very common for music hall songs to have complicated verses, sung by the star of the show, and easy choruses, for the hoi polloi to join in on.
